Robotic Automation
Robotic MIG Welding
In MIG welding, the robot moves the arc between wire and workpiece at constant speed and angle; every seam is identical.

MIG welding joins metals with the heat of the arc between the filler wire and the workpiece. Seam quality that varies with the operator when done by hand becomes repeatable with a robot: torch angle, travel speed and wire feed are the same on every part.
We design welding cells with two-station positioners; while the robot welds on one station the operator changes parts on the other. Camera-based seam tracking corrects deviations caused by part tolerances in real time.
