Machine Vision
Barcode and 2D Code Reading
Reading barcodes and 2D codes with machine vision delivers far higher read rates than classical readers on difficult surfaces, with multiple codes and variable positions.

Standard barcode readers need a fixed distance and orientation; a code on wrinkled packaging, shiny metal or a curved surface lowers the read rate. In camera-based reading the image is first enhanced, the code is located, decoded and its quality grade reported.
Several codes can be read in one frame; all labels on a box are verified in one pass. The data is matched against the order/ERP and mismatched products leave the line. For DPM (direct part marking) codes we use special lighting setups.
